Board of Directors Meeting

The next AMTA Board of Directors meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011.  Networking begins at 9:30 a.m. followed by the meeting at 10:00.  The meeting will be hosted by the Clayton County CVB and will be held in the Bethel One Room Schoolhouse at Stately Oaks Plantation in Jonesboro.

Directions:
I-75 South to Exit 233.
Turn right on to Hwy. 54.
Travel 5 miles (past the Train Depot) to College Street.
Turn left over the railroad tracks.
Take an immediate right.
Stately Oaks will be 100 yards on your left.

29th Annual Travel South Showcase in Atlanta

Registration and sponsorships for Travel South are now available!  Make plans to attend the 29th Annual Travel South Showcase in Atlanta, Feb. 22 – 24, 2011. Showcase is the only regional tourism marketplace for the Southern USA. The script was created following hundreds of interviews with residents of the town, along with information from published news reports and journal entries from those involved in the project. Peachtree City invites you to celebrate a Hometown Holiday with an evening full of entertainment for all ages. From hunting candy canes, to music of the season, the tree lighting, and of course golf carts, don’t miss this annual Peachtree City tradition Saturday, December 4.  Festivities will begin with the Candy Cane Hunt at 5:15 pm on Shakerag Knoll, located on McIntosh Trail in Peachtree City. Hometown Holiday continues at 6 pm with a musical program at ‘The Fred’, sponsored by Sam’s Club. The program features performances by the Peachtree Wind Ensemble, Peachtree City School of Dance and local singer-songwriter Paige McCauley. The family can join in the fun by singing favorite carols, and possibly get a glimpse of the big man himself, Santa Claus. The evening concludes with the Lighting of the Grand Christmas Tree and visits with Santa at approximately 8 pm at City Hall located on Highway 54.

The Trolley joins forces with WellStar Kennestone Hospital as they "Lite the Night".  This annual tree lighting event will be combined with the Trolley's own "Lights of Life". Guests will board the decorated Trolley for a trip to Kennestone to participate in the tree lighting, followed by a tour of lights around Marietta, including the Life University's Lights of Life.
