The city of Lawrenceville, Gwinnett's county seat, was chartered in 1821. Located 20 miles north of Atlanta, Lawrenceville is the second oldest city in metro-Atlanta. Just north of Atlanta, in Lawrenceville you are surrounded by professional theatre, great dining, unique shops, AAA baseball, a dinner & tournament show, as well as access to award-winning recreation facilities!

The Lawrenceville Tourism & Trade Association is a private, non-profit tourism agency and Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) for the City of Lawrenceville appointed by the city's Downtown Development Authority and sanctioned by the City of Lawrenceville with a mission to promote tourism, business development, and civic life in the city of Lawrenceville.

Annual Events

Art on the Square: Friday, May 28th & Saturday, May 29th

The Gwinnett Historic Courthouse grounds will come alive with a colorful artist market of paintings, prints, pottery, jewelry, music and photography. Visitors will be able to watch the artists as they create their own artwork and can listen to live jazz as they stroll through the grounds.

Moonlight & Music Concert Series:

September – Friday, September 24th

From May to September, at 8:00 p.m., on the fourth Friday of each month, concerts are held on the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse lawn. Each concert offers various styles of music including blues, jazz, rock, folk, country and bluegrass, Motown, swing and more! Tables for six can be rented by contacting the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse offices at 770-822-5450. Concert goers can bring a picnic or dine at one of the terrific restaurants on the Square.

Lawrenceville Farmers’ Market: Every Saturday June - September

Every Saturday from June through September, whether you're coming downtown for your weekly, fresh produce or visiting our historic shopping district, the Lawrenceville Farmers’ Market has become a Saturday morning treat to pick up not only fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers but also unique baskets, soaps, honeys, and jams. 

Prelude to the 4th: Saturday, July 3rd

LTTA and the Aurora Theatre present Lawrenceville’s annual Prelude to the Fourth free musical celebration held on the Historic Courthouse lawn. Families and friends can rent tables and order catering packages from local restaurants, as they enjoy the outdoor performance and a spectacular pyrotechnics finale.

Rock N’ Rib Fest: TBA (Tentatively Saturday, October 16th)

Lawrenceville's official fall event, Rock & Rib Fest, brings barbecue ribs galore, live music, and family fun to downtown Lawrenceville!  This event offers fun for the whole family, featuring: FREE Classic Rock and entertainment, culinary vendors with BBQ and ribs galore, a beer garden, FREE fun and games for the family, great downtown shopping, and special presentations by Georgia Gwinnett College!

Lighting of the Tree: Thursday, November 25th

Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation, the City of Lawrenceville, and the Lawrenceville Tourism and Trade Association work to bring hundreds of lights and thousands of smiling faces together for a night of entertainment and cheer for the Annual Lighting of the Tree. Bring your camera for a quick visit on the lawn in Santa's sleigh!

Lawrenceville Rings: Friday, December 31st

Lawrenceville’s premier New Year’s Eve party is celebrated on the historic square. Downtown Lawrenceville comes alive featuring a music crawl with over 10 live bands, a beer garden, food court, magic show, rock climbing wall, children’s inflatables & more, it's bound to be a rockin' New Years!
