To Become Art Walk Headquarters

Marietta, GA - First Friday Art Walk will return on September 5 with a new Art Walk Headquarters - the Marietta-Cobb Museum of Art. The Marietta Square has become the place to be on the first Friday of every month, 5pm-8pm (some merchants will be staying open till 9pm). Not only will art galleries be featured, but also merchants will be displaying local, original works of art in their shops. Pick up an Art Walk map, which denotes what locations are featured and what artists will be spotlighted that evening. Maps of the venues are available at each participating merchant, the Marietta Welcome Center & Visitors Bureau and the Marietta-Cobb Museum of Art. At each Art Walk stop, you'll have your map stamped. After you finish the Walk, you can turn your completed map (with 10 locations stamped) into the Art Walk Headquarters - the Marietta-Cobb Museum of Art - for a free gift bag. On September 5, you'll also receive free admission to the Museum's "Martinis & Music" event.

The Historic Marietta Trolley will make it easier to get to all the Art Walk stops that evening. They're running a free shuttle service that evening from 5pm-8pm. At 8pm the Historic Marietta Trolley Company and Ghosts of Marietta will be combining for "Scary-etta," the trolley ghost tour. The tour leaves from the Trolley Headquarters, 131 Church Street. First Friday Art Walk will be held rain or shine. Parking is available on the Square, in the Mill Street lots and in the Cherokee Street Parking Deck (free that evening). Admission to the Art Walk is free.
