The U.S. 10K Classic this Labor Day Weekend

What are you doing this Labor Day Weekend? How about taking in a live Jordin Sparks concert? Maybe a day at Six Flags White Water? Or an outdoor evening concert and cookout? Maybe a day with the kids in one of the largest, cleanest, best supervised (and completely FREE) interactive play areas? Or a fun run for youngsters under the age of 12? Perhaps a 10K jaunt for the adults one of Georgia's largest state highways? Food? Fun? Celebration?

How about all of the above? How about The U.S. 10K Classic this Labor Day Weekend?

What? Where? When? How?

Start off with the Family Festival - a two-day outdoor festival and expo Saturday and Sunday, August 30th & 31st at the Cobb Galleria Gardens. The festival features vendors galore, an amazing artist market, a huge interactive kids area and opportunity to register and pick up packets for the 10K race. The festival is also the site of the Kid's Classic .5K and 1K races Saturday morning at 10 a.m. - one of Atlanta's few races geared just for the youngsters where every participant is rewarded with a t-shirt and goodie bag.

Saturday night at the festival, Coca Cola hosts an End of Summer Concert & Cookout with a FREE, live performance by the Dave Matthew Tribute Band and Atlanta's own Packway Handle Band. Williamson Brothers will serve up BBQ for a modest charge and free Coke products and snacks for all!

Festivities continue at the Family Festival on Sunday where Jordin Sparks will make a brief appearance to sign autographs before the big concert on Monday.

But to attend the Monday performance, you've got to join the thousands of runners, walkers, skaters, cyclists and wheelchair racers for one of the biggest 10K events in the country - the U.S. 10K Classic. The fun begins at the start line with hot air balloons, Jordin Sparks singing the national anthem and a professional parachute jump by former Green Berets. After the 6.2 miles to the finish line, Publix will serve up a feast while Jordin Sparks performs a full concert for all race participants. And to top it all off, every participant receives free entry into Six Flags White Water for the day. Oh, and did we mention the shirt and hat every participant will receive?
